The situation

An incredibly innovative data analytics company - that combines and leverages Artificial Intelligence, Behavioural Science & Data Science to revolutionise healthcare by understanding human behaviour on an individual level - were facing a challenge.

They had been running for one year commercially, generating significant revenue and building their SaaS data solutions product via pharma partnerships and were looking to expand their geographical footprint.

They had ambitious growth targets and were looking for support in building their teams to take their product to the global commercial market of life science businesses, particularly looking at Clinical Trial Recruitment.

The Hobson Prior solution

Understanding the challenge ahead of the business, Hobson Prior consulted the Founder and C-suite team to identify their core concerns.

It quickly became clear that they needed support in two main areas: support in developing their employer value proposition to prospective candidates in new geographies and market insight into the recruitment trends and expectations in each new location.

They knew the importance of understanding people’s behaviour at an individual level and Hobson Prior’s market knowledge and understanding of local markets and specialisms appealed to them. We worked closely with their team to build a tailored recruitment solution to their growth plans, including salary benchmarking reports, benefits and bonus compensation comparisons, and each location's hiring culture.

At Hobson Prior, we have specific teams dedicated to specializing in functions and geographies and introduced our client to market experts from the UK and both the West & East Coasts of the United States. Alongside our research, we were able to advise on: strategic locations where they could build their teams, the expectations of candidates in these areas, how best to market themselves to these new networks and began shortlisting for key hires.

In addition to market knowledge, the company also needed support in finding senior leads to help establish growth in these locations. Hobson Prior was able to work with them closely to define a hiring strategy for VP-level hires and how to present the opportunity to prospective candidates who likely hadn’t heard of them before.

The result

Armed with accurate knowledge of their target hires in each of these locations we helped them to reduce their hiring business costs by making more impactful, strategic hires. With this excess expenditure removed, they were able to invest further into product innovation and delivery.
