Protein Lab Associate

Hobson Prior are seeking a Protein Lab Associate to join a pharmaceutical organisation who discover and develop cutting edge therapies that will make a difference in the lives of patients. This role will be on a contract basis and will be located in Basel.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Job Responsibilities:

• Purification of active proteins, downstream characterisation and chemical modification.
• Implementation of protein folding strategies.
• Quality assurance assays of generated proteins - SDS-PAGE, RP-HPLC, Endotoxin, ELISA.
• Preparation and communication of research results in both oral and written formats.
• Day-to-day lab responsibilities; execution of experiments.
• Preparation of reports, presentations, SOPs, etc.
• Perform other duties as required.

Key Skills:

• Experience in purification and analytical methods, AKTA, HPLC.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn new laboratory techniques and protocols.
• Previous hands-on lab experience in biotech/pharma industry.
• Proven ability to execute protein purification strategies.
• Proven ability to solve folding & purification problems.
• Written and oral communication skills in English.

Requirements:

• BSc/MSc in biochemistry or a related subject.
• 2+ years of hands on protein purification or relevant protein science experience.
• 3+ years of biotech/pharma experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively without supervision.
