Hobson Prior is seeking a VAT Accountant to join a dynamic team focused on managing VAT reporting and compliance for various European and international markets. In this role, you will ensure all VAT-related obligations are met, provide guidance on compliance queries, and stay updated on local VAT legislation. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while contributing to the financial operations of a global organization.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare VAT returns and related reports using tools like Excel or tax preparation software.
• Coordinate internal approvals for VAT submissions and manage payment requests.
• Reconcile VAT accounts with general ledger data and resolve discrepancies.
• Address VAT compliance queries from internal teams.
• Support the implementation of VAT requirements in collaboration with the Tax Technology team.
• Monitor changes in VAT legislation and update processes accordingly.
• Assist with VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities when needed.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation, and risk management strategies.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Experience in VAT compliance within a multinational environment.
• Familiarity with accounting systems like SAP or Oracle is a plus.
• Strong skills in Excel and data analysis.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• A team-oriented mindset with problem-solving and analytical skills.
