Hobson Prior is seeking a dedicated and skilled Molecular Biologist to join a team focused on advancing novel therapies. In this role, you will apply your expertise in molecular biology and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to support innovative drug discovery projects. This is a lab-based position where you will work collaboratively with other scientists to ensure the smooth execution of experiments and contribute to the development of cutting-edge techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct experiments using advanced molecular biology and NGS techniques to study the effects of treatments in cellular models.
• Extract and prepare RNA and DNA samples for sequencing, ensuring high-quality data output.
• Troubleshoot and optimize experimental methods as needed.
• Collaborate with project teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Mentor and guide other scientists in the team to maintain high standards of laboratory practices.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Background in a relevant scientific field, such as a PhD or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, including RNA sequencing and library preparation.
• Proficiency in large-scale nucleic acid extraction, sequencing, and data quality control.
• Familiarity with high-throughput detection methods for nucleic acids.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with laboratory automation and liquid handling systems.
• Knowledge of oligonucleotide therapies, such as siRNAs or ASOs.
• Practical experience with NGS platforms like Illumina or Oxford Nanopore.
• Familiarity with sample tracking using LIMS systems.
