Hobson Prior is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join a dedicated and versatile team. This position involves using cutting-edge chemistry automation technologies to create new molecules for various projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in chemistry who is interested in assisting with the advancement of drug discovery.

Responsibilities:

• Use automation technologies to improve and create libraries of screening compounds on a small scale in order to advance projects.
• Work alongside experts in various disciplines to maximize the company's capabilities.
• Assist with the evaluation and development of synthetic methods that are compatible with automation to create optimal synthetic pathways for the synthesis of desired libraries.
• Enhance our business reputation internally and externally through peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• A Ph.D. in organic chemistry, or a master's degree in chemistry with experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
• Experience in planning and conducting chemistry experiments in parallel and adapting existing protocols to new applications.
• Expertise in organic synthesis, retrosynthesis, compound route design, purification, and analytical chemistry, UPLC.
• Experience in chemistry automation and plate chemistry would be beneficial.
• Encourage innovation and be motivated to work effectively in a team with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work across scientific fields, possess a curious mind and a long-term commitment to advancing chemistry automation as an innovative tool in drug discovery.
