Hobson Prior is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Responsible Person (GDP) or Controlled Drugs Officer for a contract role based in Galway. This pivotal position involves making crucial decisions, expertly managing resources, and ensuring objectives are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS.
- Ensure operating procedures are in place and regularly assessed to maintain security, accountability, and reconciliation for all veterinary products.
- Ensure all procedures relating to QMS are followed and reviewed, and that necessary training is provided to relevant staff.
- Safeguard product users against potential hazards arising from poor distribution practices.
- Coordinate and promptly perform any recall operations for veterinary products.
- Handle customer complaints effectively.
- Approve suppliers and customers.
- Approve subcontracted activities which may impact on GDP.
- Perform self-inspections at regular intervals and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Decide on the final disposition of returned, rejected, recalled or falsified products.
- Ensure adherence to additional requirements imposed on certain products by national law.
- Document deviations and decide on corrective actions to avoid their reoccurrence.
- Establish appropriate procedures relating to personal hygiene, including personal health and appropriate clothing relevant to the activities carried out.
- Ensure premises are designed and appropriate to ensure required storage conditions for all products including controlled drugs.
- Ensure continuous training in all areas of Veterinary/CD legislation and adequate training for all required staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the European GDP Guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of all GDP and relevant legislation.
- Ability to implement a Quality Management System and all relevant SOP's.
- Excellent organizational skills, personal efficiency, and time management skills.
- Ability to deal with diverse personalities and viewpoints.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others.
- Strategic decision-making skills.
- Strong working knowledge of best practice processes.
- Positive and proactive personality.
- Qualified as a Responsible Person (RP) in accordance with GDP, EU and HPRA requirements.
- Bachelor's/master's degree in quality or Pharmaceutical Science disciplines.
- People management skills.
- Detailed knowledge and experience creating and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with GDP, with a focus on compliance and continual improvement.
- Excellent computer skills: word, excel, typing.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
