Hobson Prior is seeking a Process / Project Engineer for a new manufacturing facility in London. This facility will produce advanced therapies, specifically gene therapy viral vectors. The role involves assisting the Engineering Manager with the coordination of daily site operations and performance improvements. The successful candidate will also support capital and tech transfer projects across the site.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with design and review activities for capital projects, focusing on single-use equipment items and setup.
  • Support technical transfer activities, including design of experiments and development of single-use item specifications for manufacturing use.
  • Coordinate vendor activities for commissioning, qualification, maintenance, calibration, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to safety and health programs, including risk assessments and investigations.
  • Help implement and maintain a framework for quality performance and continuous improvement.
  • Develop strong relationships across teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify and implement technology-based solutions to reduce waste and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Data Integrity, and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Degree in a related Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of biopharmaceutical equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with computerized equipment systems and data integrity principles.
  • Experience with commissioning and qualification of process equipment and utilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to set and achieve challenging goals.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in a biopharmaceutical environment, specifically in a process engineering role.
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutical process operations.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
