Upstream Process Development Associate / Research Associate

Hobson Prior are currently seeking for an Upstream Process Development Associate / Research Associate for a pharmaceutical establishment on a contract basis. Our client is focused on providing life-changing novel remedies for various illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• For this role, you will optimise transfection and transduction protocols.
• Guarantee work conforms to suitable quality and safety standards.
• Manage culturing of mammalian cells for viral production in shake flasks, spinner flasks, spin tubes and/or benchtop bioreactors.
• Conduct experiments within the development, optimisation and scale-up of production procedures.
• You will contribute to the technology transfer from process development to manufacturing sites when required.
• Handle training of personnel on multiple experimental assays.
• Any other assigned duties.

Requirements:

• Educated to a degree level in a chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or biology/molecular biology or similar field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience within AAV production within the life science organisation r corresponding.
• Familiarity with cell culture, which involves materials, instruments and technologies.
• Acquaintance with cell culture production procedures, which involves small scale such as shaker flasks, spinner flasks, spin tubes and/or benchtop bioreactor scale.
• Fluency in the English language.
