Hobson Prior are looking for a Senior Scientist - Proteomics to join a fantastic biotech organisation on a permanent basis located in Newhouse. Our client is focused on progressing a range of medicines to clinics using their patented next generation of technologies.
Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design robust proteomic assays to characterise lead compound selectivity and mechanism-of-action, leveraging both in-house and CRO capabilities.
- Biological sample preparation from cells/tissues (including pulldowns) for a variety of proteomic endpoints.
- Work independently and in collaboration with our CRO network in executing advanced proteomics experiments, analysing, interpreting, and presenting the data to the team.
- Teaming up with Bioinformatics group to build cutting edge bioinformatic and deep learning tools.
- Keeping well-informed of current literature on cutting edge techniques in the field of proteomics.
- Propose experimental approaches to support the needs of the company for proteomics.

Requirements:
- A PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or in a related subject.
- At least over 1 year of direct, hands-on experience in proteomics within Pharma, Biotech or equivalent setting.
- Knowledge in variety of sample prep techniques (e.g. pull-downs, co-IP).
- A practical understanding of a wide range of proteomic methods and technologies (e.g. TMT, SILAC, DIA/DDA, ABPP, PTM analysis) as applied to a range of experimental systems and/or biological targets.
- Good understanding of applied statistics.
- Strong scientific curiosity and interest in drug discovery.
