Senior Scientist - Protein Production & Protein Biochemistry

Hobson Prior are seeking for a Senior Scientist - Protein Production & Protein Biochemistry to join a fantastic pharmaceutical organisation on a contract basis located in Gothenburg. Our client is focused on producing authentically novel treatments and improving their access.

Key Responsibilities:

• For this role, you will distribute expertise in recombinant protein production and characterisation of various target class proteins on a day-to-day basis.
• Collaborate with international associates to guarantee delivery of high-quality protein reagents and partake in innovative concepts and use acumen and know-how when suitable to inspire project advancement.
• Generate and characterise recombinant proteins which involves enzymes, secreted proteins, transcription aspects and proteins with less characterised functions.
• The ideal candidate will use the proteins to allow drug discovery projects.
• Passionate about assuming hands-on responsibilities.
• Operate across functional boundaries to outline what is required or finding projects and guide protein work to deliver to that.
• Prepare and perform laboratory projects and experimental methods, evolve strategies and technologies, produce, comprehend and document scientific data independently.
• Responsible for partaking in the company's particular field developments within the team.

• Able to think critically and resolve issues with a focus on delivery.

Requirements:

• Educated to an advanced degree level in a biochemistry, biology or pharmacology or any other similar discipline.
• Ideal to have work experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech organisation if educated to a Master's degree level.
• Know-how of a variety of tactics and technologies applied to the expression, purification and characterisation of a varied set of target proteins, such as concept design and protein engineering, bacterial expression, liquid chromatography, SDS-PAGE, mass spectrometry and biophysical techniques.
• Able to interface with international functions and fields within a multi-cultural environment.
