Hobson Prior is seeking a Senior Scientist for a role in the Bioscience COPD/IPF Department within Early Respiratory and Immunology. This role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The successful candidate will be involved in arranging, developing and completing in vitro experiments as well as analysing both in vitro and in vivo studies.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out experiments in vitro/ex vivo according to study plans.
• Contribute to the interpretation of experimental data.
• Play a key role in the planning of further experiments.
• Communicate results effectively to other members of the project, team or to departments as required.
• Support projects to meet their objectives.
• Conduct more than one area of work to agreed timelines.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• A science degree in Molecular/Cell Biology, Pharmacy or Biotechnology or a similar relevant field.
• Practical experience running in vitro assays and cell culturing.
• Relevant experimental experience in cell and molecular biology methods, immunoassays, protein and RNA analysis.
• Experience in isolation, culturing and analysis of primary cell cultures is desirable.
• Experience in immunological methods (ELISA, MSD), protein analysis (western blot) and RNA analysis (qPCR) is beneficial.
• Experience in lung research is desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Great problem-solving skills.
• Positive and goal-oriented attitude.
• Team player who can also take own initiatives.
• Organised and able to incorporate the views of others in communication and collaboration.
