Hobson Prior are currently seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to join a therapeutics organisation on a permanent basis located in Philadelphia. Our client is focused on T cell therapy being a treatment for late-stage oncology.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for launching investigations, deviations, CAPAs, etc. related to GMP facilities, utilities, and equipment.
  • For this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for backing the installation, start-up, commissioning, qualification and upkeep of facilities equipment, systems and utilities associated with cGMP Manufacturing, Laboratories and Warehouse.
  • Establish a strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, and have the ability to troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Develop and cooperate on reliability and predictive maintenance programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Offer technical and engineering expertise and support to all departments as needed.
  • Supervise and respond to alarms generated from the BMS/QEMS, including off-hours and weekends.
  • Develop and enhance departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring that equipment works to design and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Participate in the planning, design, budgeting, scheduling and execution of assigned projects.
  • Self-reliantly apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis and offer technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.
  • Perform routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Inspect problems and diagnosing and repairing faults.
  • Create enhancements to and offering advice about operational procedures.
  • Monitor work performed by maintenance and/or external contractors to ensure conformance to design and industry standards.
  • Ensure safe working conditions.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Achieved a BS or a MS in an engineering field is required, or equivalent experience in relation to the job role.
  • At least 5 years of related BioPharma/Life Sciences experience required.
  • Past involvement in cell therapy manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Capability of working with cell therapy processing and laboratory equipment is highly advantageous, including; BSC's, incubators, refrigerators, centrifuges, -80C freezers and LN2 freezers.
