Hobson Prior are looking for a Senior Director Manufacturing Operations to join a brilliant biotech organisation on a permanent basis located in Philadelphia. Our client is focused on bettering the care of patients who suffer from tumours and blood cancers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For the role of Senior Director Manufacturing Operations, you will be responsible for the development and growth of the organisational foundation, support services, and working strategy for manufacturing in a new commercial suite value stream.
  • Supervise the continual process and development of a clinical suite value stream projected for multi-product use.
  • Guarantee site materials are satisfactory to complete procedures and fully augmented to support both functioning suites in a dynamic supply setting.
  • You will be cultivating and offering monthly manufacturing metrics and "Health of the Operations".
  • Aid as a significant contributor in the manufacturing site leadership team to motivate cross functional leadership in support of strategic operations proposals.
  • Recognise and instigate tactical continuous enhancement opportunities for process and production associated items. Proficiency level in visual management, KPIs, huddle boards etc.
  • As the Senior Director Manufacturing Operations, you will be accountable for certifying the operative application of internal control systems and methods pertinent to each functional area of duty by offering management direction to operations personnel.
  • Progress and assume an efficient communication approach for a rapidly growing team in a dynamic environment.
  • Deliver leadership to warrant the organisation appeals, guides, progresses and maintains the best people and adopts an atmosphere which encourages a diverse team to fully use its aptitudes in reaching the anticipated business outcomes.

Requirements:

  • You will have at least attained a B.S degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or correlated technical topic, or corresponding industry experience.
  • At least 20 years of pertinent operations experience for clinical and commercial manufacture in the life sciences business. Cell and gene therapy experience is preferred, but not essential to the role.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a managerial role, with cumulative accountability. Capacity to manage and inspire large teams within the manufacturing atmosphere (possibly 50+ employees).
  • For this role, you will have strong familiarity with FDA regulations and GMP systems.
  • You will have robust knowledge of human error reduction tactics, right-first time implementation, and just culture.
  • Exhibited technical understanding of aseptic handling in cleanroom settings is a must.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Sturdy technical writing ability is required for this role.
  • You will be capable of inspiring and mentoring peers, staff, adopt a culture of unremitting improvement and operational brilliance.
  • You are a self-motivated individual who is keen to accept temporary errands outside of initial job description.
  • Brilliant interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are vital to the role as you will be operating within a collaborative work setting.
  • As the Senior Director Manufacturing Operations, you must be comfortable in a fast-paced small company atmosphere with minimum direction and competent in adjusting workload based upon changing priorities.
  • You will have obtained project management skills with familiarity in strategic/tactical planning, team building and capable of meeting budgets.
