Senior Director, Global Immunology Strategy

Hobson Prior are looking for a Senior Director, Global Immunology Strategy to join a brilliant biotech business on a permanent basis located in Basel. Our client is focused on engineering therapies for those who suffer from unique illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• For this role, you will be responsible for guiding cross-functional program teams to produce project strategies to implement on development strategy of the compounds.
• Manage cross-functional teams to guarantee the delivery of the project development plan, with support from program directors.
• Support VP Global Immunology Strategy in piloting Immunology Leadership team conferences to report product teams' progress and matters needing support from leadership.
• You will be accountable for program level communication, information/data congregation and reporting, organising and expediating meetings; tracking, intensifying and resolving issues; tracking and extenuating risks; contingency planning and managing resources.
• Cohort with functions, controller and forecast & planning team members to warrant accuracy in budget forecast, payments made & overall tracking.
• Outline critical path & at-risk activities and interdependencies, expect hold-ups, clear barriers to progress.
• Might be requested to project manage specific jobs in their program tasks.
• Guarantee tech transfers are organised, precise and accomplished in a timely manner.
• Operate in assessing and implementing growth prospects and main strategic projects for the global organisation.
• Enable new commercial evaluation opportunities for our present portfolio, involving (financial) business case and market opportunity assessment, go to market design and any other operational considerations.
• The ideal candidate will support design and formation of governance, roadmap and apparatuses needed to lead key programs.
• As the Senior Director, Global Immunology Strategy, you will have the responsibility of establishing and uphold Key Performance Indicators to measure success of programs.
• Offer commendations and apprises to North America/Global Leadership Team and Corporate leadership.

Key Skills:

• Wonderful Project Management skills, involving proficiency in handling project agendas and resource management.
• Robust capabilities with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Office Timeline or comparable visualisation applications.
• Verified experience in leadership of diverse, cross-functionally teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Requirements:

• Educated at least to a BS/BA degree level within a relevant discipline; or preferably educated to a MS, MBA and/or PhD degree level within a relevant discipline.
• At least 12+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical business with broad exposure to all functions/activities (Nonclinical, Clinical, CMC and Regulatory) involved in drug development, in early and late-stage development.
• Strong knowledge of global (FDA, EMA, PMDA) regulatory necessities for small molecule and/or biologic drugs.
• Preferably obtained experience with rare diseases.
• Solid understanding of financial attributes, including knowledge of resource planning (headcount and budget) and management.
• Established experience operating with cross-functional teams, outsourcing partners, and consultants, if possible, with experience operating in a small pharma/biotech organisation.
• Project management in the rare disease therapeutic area PMI certification is advantageous, but not essential to the role.
