Hobson Prior are looking for a Scientist and a Senior Scientist, Immuno-Oncology Research to join a brilliant biotech organisation on a permanent basis located in London. Our client is focused on producing pioneering therapies to treat serious illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For this role, you will be accountable for designing and performing experiments intended for immuno-oncology target discovery and validation in the areas of liver and pancreatic cancer.
  • Partake in ongoing immuno-oncology research and drug discovery projects.
  • You will inaugurate high-throughput cell-based assays aimed at target discovery and validation.
  • Establish and maintain 2D and 3D tissue cultures of primary cells and cell lines.
  • Responsible for examining, understanding, reporting and presenting results.

Key Skills:

  • You will be capable of preparing, implementing and analytically evaluating experiments self-sufficiently.
  • Outstanding time-management skills and strong ability to meet deadlines.
  • Function well within a team, robust written and verbal communication skills, as well as IT skills.
  • Good at troubleshooting, methodical, well organised, pay close attention to detail, and preserve accurate archives.

Requirements:

  • Obtained a PhD in Biomedical sciences, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or any similar field, or a MSc with at least 3 years of practical experience in cellular or molecular biology, molecular pharmacology or cancer genomics with attention to immuno-oncology.
  • Real-world experience in cellular and molecular biology, immunology, molecular pharmacology or cancer genomics.
  • Palpable experience in immuno-oncology research.
  • Practical experience of significant immunological and molecular biology techniques comprising of RNA/DNA extraction, qRT-PCR, ELISA, western blotting.
  • Proficiency in using flow cytometry for cell sorting and analysis.
  • Knowledge in at least one or more of the following subjects: tissue engineering, histology and immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy.
  • Solid understanding of molecular pharmacology and oncology drug development would be an advantage, but not essential for the role.
  • Previous experience working in the biotech/pharma industry performing laboratory research is highly desirable but not essential to the role.
