Hobson Prior is seeking a passionate and dedicated Research Scientist. This role will involve conducting laboratory work, specifically in vitro assays, and providing support for various drug discovery projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry and cell biology and will be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary research environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory work, focusing on in vitro assays.
• Independently plan, analyse and report all laboratory work.
• Generate routine screening data and conduct specialized in vitro pharmacology studies.
• Troubleshoot independently and report data in a timely manner.
• Collaborate closely with project teams, particularly those focused on Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism, and Respiratory & Immunology disease areas.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• A strong interest in laboratory work.
• A Master's or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent experience in the Life Science industry.
• Proven working experience with in vitro pharmacology studies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary research environment.
• Ability to analyse and evaluate complex data independently and deliver data within agreed timelines.
• Strong decision-making skills and the determination to follow through on decisions, even in ambiguous situations.
• Experience with compound profiling in a screening environment using microtiter plates and automation is desirable.
• Experience with either enzymology studies or mechanistic cell-based studies is desirable.
