Hobson Prior is seeking a Scientist-Biology for a contract role based in Basel. The successful candidate will focus on applying targeted metabolomics methods to monitor metabolic pathways and biomarkers in biological samples. This role may also involve developing new methods to quantify endogenous metabolites and drugs in biofluids, tissues, and cell culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply targeted metabolomics methods to monitor metabolic pathways and biomarkers in biological samples.
• Develop and implement new methods to quantify endogenous metabolites and drugs in biofluids, tissues, and cell culture.
• Perform biochemical and enzymatic assays to investigate mechanisms of toxicity.
• Manage study timelines and objectives, ensure accuracy and quality of generated data.
• Document experiments and results in electronic systems and write reports.
• Communicate study results and data interpretation to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry.
• Solid knowledge of biochemistry, endogenous metabolic pathways, principles of toxicology, enzymatic assays, and/or in vitro cell culture experience is highly valued.
