Hobson Prior is seeking a Clinical Biomarkers Principal Scientist. This role involves creating strategies for biomarker identification and implementation, as well as developing companion diagnostics. The successful candidate will also monitor biomarkers in clinical trials and work on improving cross-functional processes related to biomarkers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop strategies for clinical biomarkers and establish plans for target engagement, pharmacodynamics, mechanism of action, and patient selection.
• Support the translational team in defining the translational strategy.
• Monitor the clinical implementation and validation of biomarkers.
• Choose the best technical strategy to achieve biomarker objectives.
• Implement biomarker plans for clinical trials into clinical study documentation.
• Work closely with clinical operation teams and CROs to monitor ongoing biomarker activities.
• Identify, select and validate CROs for biomarker validation and analysis.
• Collaborate with the clinical development team to define biomarker components of statistical analysis plans.
• Communicate effectively across the organization.
• Maintain knowledge of national and international guidelines including industry standards for Good Laboratory/Clinical Practice.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• PhD in life science or a similar field but preferably in oncology or immuno-oncology.
• Deep understanding of translational science and clinical biomarkers in drug development.
• Experience in NGS and/or companion diagnostics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in/or leading a matrix team.
• Ability to recognise, articulate and accept calculated risks to make informed decisions.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent scientific written, interpersonal communication.
• Strong familiarity with good clinical/laboratory practices.
• Good experience working with CROs.
