Hobson Prior is seeking a dedicated Physician to provide comprehensive medical care and leadership within a correctional facility setting. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of healthcare services, ensure compliance with policies, and maintain high standards of care for residents. This position requires a proactive approach to patient care, operational efficiency, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical exams, diagnose health issues, prescribe treatments, and provide follow-up care.
- Lead and guide the medical program in partnership with the Health Services Supervisor.
- Monitor healthcare operations and ensure quality standards are met.
- Participate in treatment planning and decision-making for residents.
- Perform minor surgeries and, if necessary, occasional major surgeries.
- Support nursing staff with diagnoses, treatment plans, and prescriptions.
- Maintain strong working relationships with staff, contractors, and external providers.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and use sound judgment in decision-making.
- Evaluate and improve healthcare services for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee medical records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and proper documentation.
- Respond to emergencies, provide basic medical aid, and manage crisis situations.
- Facilitate accreditation processes and maintain compliance with healthcare standards.
- Provide health education and counseling to individuals or groups.
- Communicate effectively with staff, residents, and external stakeholders.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Medical degree with the ability to practice as a licensed physician in the U.S.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage healthcare operations.
- Ability to perform medical procedures, including minor and occasional major surgeries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records and reports.
- Capability to handle high-stress situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to travel domestically within the U.S. if required.
