Hobson Prior are looking for an Neural Organoid Scientist to join a brilliant pharmaceutical organisation on a contract basis. Our client is focused on offering novel remedies to people suffering from various illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design new or improve existing neural organoid culture protocols.
- Evaluate state-of-the-art organoid culture protocols.
- Automation of large scale organoid culture, phenotyping and screening projects
- Design new scientific projects to improve the upscaling of organoid culture systems
- Assume responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of organoid farming and phenotyping activities.
- Assume responsibility for the publication of peer-reviewed papers.
- Summarize experimental results, and review conclusions with supervisor/project leader. Communicate results of experiments. Keep supervisor/project leader informed of work status, particularly of significant findings and results in critical problem areas.
- Participate in the design and organization of experiments in conjunction with the team. Providing input in writing experimental protocols, and reports may be required.
- Assist research groups in the development and implementation of new procedures and evaluate new products and equipment. Assist with generation of written standard operating procedures.
- Train, mentor or supervise junior scientists inside the working team.
Requirements:
- Degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biophysics, Developmental biology (PhD).
- Experience in Neural Organoids: Brain or retina within academy setting.
- Experience with human cell culture, preferably stem cells and 3D culture systems: organoid, gastruloids, tumoroids and/or cysts.
- Communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in an international team. Fluent in English.
- Experience with Crispr technology is an advantage.
- Postdoctoral experience is an advantage but not a must.
- Experience with high content imaging microscopes is an advantage.
