Hobson Prior are currently seeking for a SAT Automation Scientist to join a brilliant biotech organisation on a permanent basis located in London. Our client is focused on creating solutions that may possibly cure people who are suffering from serious illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:
- For this role, you will offer ad-hoc assistance and direction to liquid handling platform end-users.
- To facilitate review of prospects for upgrading present liquid handling platform equipment or acquiring new platforms, you will keep informed on innovative industry trends.
- Ensure that the maintenance of the liquid handling platform codebase is up to date.
- You will draft SOPs as well as work instructions for automated workflows that are being developed and train end-users on how to implement the workflows in the lab.
- Partake in regular ab re-stocks and keep track of consumables for automated regular assays.
- To execute end-to-end solutions that resolve data management bottlenecks towards a fully digital lab infrastructure, you will cooperate with the data science team.
- Any other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- Educated to a PhD or equivalent level in a bioprocess/biochemical/chemical engineering or biochemistry discipline with at least a year's worth of experience within a biotech organisation in a process development role.
- Or educated to a degree level in in a bioprocess/biochemical/chemical engineering or biochemistry discipline with at least 1 - 2 years of experience within a biotech organisation in a process development role.
- Know-how of commercial liquid handling platforms, ideally Hamilton STAR and Tecan EVO.
- Acquaintance with developing and troubleshooting automated workflows on liquid handling platforms.
- Former involvement in managing DNA and protein quantification assays, for example: qPCR, ELISA, Picogreen, etc.
- Comprehension of statistical and modelling software and tools, for example: DoE and statistical tests such as ANOVA, t-test, etc.
- Know-how of AAV bioprocessing, quality attributes and linked analytical strategies would be beneficial for the role.
- Familiarity with programming languages, for example: VBA, Python, or PostgreSQL would be advantageous.
