Hobson Prior is seeking a Pre-Clinical Device Specialist. This role involves working with pre-clinical devices, specifically focusing on the creation and processing of polymers. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and executing the process to create the base polymer material, operating machinery to form lenses, and understanding the manufacturing process. This role requires a hands-on approach, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute the process for creating polymers.
• Responsible for the creation of the setting-up process to ensure the correct polymer is mixed.
• Operate machinery to cut and form lenses.
• Understand and manage the manufacturing process.
• Write reports and instructions.
• Facilitate the establishment of equipment and train operators on how to use all equipment.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Experience in process development, preferably in moulding and curing type processing and process equipment.
• Experience in the medical device industry or a similar vertical.
• Ability to write documentation reports and instructions.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Experience with process characterization and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of analytical techniques such as DMTA, GC, HPLC is preferred.
• Familiarity with mixing polymers: cutting/lathing and polishing polymers.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
