Medicinal Chemistry Project Leader

Hobson Prior are currently seeking a Medicinal Chemistry Project Leader to join a brilliant biotech organisation on a permanent basis located in Great Abington. Our client is focused on progressing a portfolio of novel therapeutic candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• For this position, you will be accountable for designing and distributing the medicinal chemistry tactic for multiple portfolio programmes which involves molecule design, data analysis and addition and suggestions of resourcing levels.
• Sustain a consciousness of contemporary literature evolvements in drug development, medicinal & synthetic chemistry of pertinence to targeted protein degradation and projects within the company's portfolio.
• Display project plans and outcomes at scientific conferences both on an internal and external basis, as well as uphold and advance your network of external contacts across drug discipline functions.
• To progress the company's platform to increase its efficiency to distribute high quality clinical candidates using the company's exclusive chemical warheads and mechanisms, you will participate in the broader company chemistry method.
• Accountable for partaking in the formation of the company's knowledgeable belongings by using electronic lab notebooks and archiving patent applications.
• To guarantee a high productive team participating in rapid project progression, you will collaborate with chemists as well as any other scientists at CRO associates.
• Any other assigned duties.

Requirements:

• Pertinent experience in a pharma/biotech drug discovery establishment.
• An outstanding understanding of contemporary small molecule drug discovery and development including structure-based design, property-based design, multi-parameter optimisation and successful use of computational chemistry and cheminformatic tools.
• To allow effective synthesis of a variety of target molecules, you will possess consciousness of contemporary synthesis tactics and parallel chemistry prospects.
• Familiarity with patent analysis, competitive intelligence consciousness and tactical consciousness of target drug discovery.
• Acquaintance with executing inspired medicinal chemistry methods to generate high quality candidate molecules for successive development and clinical review.
• Working experience in a fast-paced drug discovery setting, offering input to successful distribution of various projects simultaneously.
• Possess a scientific standing proved by publication and conference presentations.
• Capable of applying knowledge obtained across various accomplished drug discovery projects into the TPD space to be accomplished in progressing TPD projects, though this is beneficial, it is not essential to the role.
