Hobson Prior are currently working with a biopharmaceutical organisation who are seeking a Manager of Non-Clinical Development to be responsible for the execution of both in vitro and in vivo studies and will work together with the organisations technicians and scientists to validate new targets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the management, operational oversight, and on-site monitoring of non-clinical studies.
  • Co-operates with project team to develop study designs and ensure designs are incorporated into the protocol.
  • Delivers scientific oversight from protocol development through reporting, including reviewing/editing reports and status updates, problem solving issues and providing recommendations for appropriate course of action.
  • Tracks and reports on time lines and provides input in budgets.
  • Produces protocols and other study documentation and may assist with the design of studies conducted.
  • Completes performance appraisals of the employees of his/her team, motivates staff, and resolves conflicts.
  • Assigns and monitors the activities of staff and provides them with reliable feedback and guidance.

Key Skills:

  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in immunology, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, biopharmaceutics or equivalent and 7-10 years' experience in a Biotech, Pharma industry or University/Knowledge institute.
  • Prior managerial experience.
  • Strong background in immunology.
  • Art 9 certification according to the Dutch Law on Animal Experimentation.
  • Hands on experience with animal experiments, preferably with knowledge of inflammatory models.
  • Experience with molecular techniques and cellular assays such as Q-PCR, cloning, neutralization. assays, and FACS
  • Experience with pharmacology and toxicology studies.
  • Knowledge of virology/gene therapy.
  • Knowledge of GLP and regulatory guidelines.
  • Knowledge of assay development.
  • Lives in the Netherlands.
