Lims Engineer

Hobson Prior currently have a new opportunity for a Lims Engineer to join a top organisation on a 6 month contract. This role is based in Liverpool with the opportunity to work from home.

Job Responsibilities:

• Configure Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), develop automation scripts, validation rules, calculations, auto completions, implement workflows, and overall support of LIMS.
• Develop utility tools to support LIMS infrastructure and deployment and perform LIMS DB maintenance operations.
• Diagnose hardware and software problems and provide technical support to users in services, installations, and training of LIMS.
• Provide connection to NPEX.
• Work with software vendors to troubleshoot issues related to LIMS access or performance; maintain and repair LIMS to minimize downtime until solutions are reconciled.
• Enhance LIMS data flows into local data warehouse.
• Work with automation engineers, develop instrument integration modules.
• Work with others to write documentation and manuals.
• Work with IT on lab network, VPN configuration.
• Work with Operation Manager and stakeholders to analyse requirements, develop implementation, integration and test plans.
• Seek feedback on the LIMS system performance through communication with LIMS' internal laboratory users; use feedback to improve performance.
• Subject matter expert for LIMS during audits, ensuring the audit readiness of the following: qualification documentation, user lists and privileges, and procedures.
• Recommend and/or implement system enhancements as needed to make the best use of the LIMS application and improve the end-user experience, be it through greater efficiencies within the system, interfaces with other equipment/applications, and/or electronic solutions to manual processes.
• Evaluate data generated/stored within the system to provide ad hoc and long-term reporting. solutions that address business needs and identify process gaps that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in chemistry, biology, IT, computer science or equivalent.
• 2+ years of demonstrated software engineering experience with LIMS.
• Experience of Mirth integration engine .
• Intermediate to expert scripting-language experience.
• Experience working with a relational database(s).
• Analyzer integration experience.
• Previous experience of telepath LIMS.
