Junior Technician (Nonclinical Development)

Hobson Prior are looking for Junior Technician (Nonclinical Development) to join a leading biopharmaceutical organisation focused on developing local gene therapy. Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated technician to join their team on a permanent basis in Amsterdam.

Job Responsibilities:

• You will be involved in the implementation of current and new projects, focusing on the generation of new AAV-based vectors targeting inflammatory and other diseases (the aim of these projects is to develop new product candidates for clinical testing).
• Perform laboratory and animal experiments to analyse the expression of therapeutic genes from AAV vectors.
• Investigate the bioactivity and specificity of the expressed therapeutic proteins using biochemical and cell culture techniques.
• You will also be involved in animal experiments and tissue analysis to demonstrate Proof of Concept of the organisation's product candidates.
• The technician will have a unique opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary projects with colleagues from two other pharmaceutical organisations in London and New York.

Requirements:

• Proficient in English.
• Previous experience with molecular biological and biochemical techniques (this includes PCR, ELISA, Western Blot, immune histochemistry).
• MLO/HLO level or equivalent in Lifesciences, Biotechnology or equivalent.
• Previous experience with cell culture.
• Art. 13f2 certification according to the Dutch Law on Animal Experimentation.
