Director, Epidemiology (Medical & Payer Evidence) to join a pharmaceutical organisation on a contract basis located in Royston. Our client is focused on core therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For this role, you will be consulting with more senior staff as needed to offer specialist guidance and direction to project teams, senior leaders, and other colleagues to ensure optimal management of high-impact project opportunities and risks.
  • Operate self-sufficiently in the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and internal and external communication of epidemiological or Ph4 real-world studies.
  • Take on a leadership role in a variety of activities.
  • Assimilate in a product team contributing to clinical development and commercialisation through your knowledge in real-world data and methods and disease epidemiology.
  • Deliver vastly experienced epidemiology strategy, support, and scientific guidance to project teams and the epidemiology global skills group, at all stages of pharmaceutical development.
  • You will be managing externally commissioned research projects and keep well-informed of epidemiological developments within academia, regulatory, and among significant opinion leaders.
  • Establish, uphold, and develop relationships and work effectually with external experts and research groups.
  • Convey time frames, propose recommendations on resource requirements, and warrant delivery of the tasks as arranged.
  • As the Director, you will encourage good epidemiological practice and represent the company's position when networking with external experts, collaborative groups, or contract research organisations.

Requirements:

  • As a Director, Epidemiology (Medical & Payer Evidence), you will exhibit substantial experience in pharmacoepidemiology and/or disease epidemiology.
  • Knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry or in a closely correlated academic epidemiological research.
  • Prior experience handling complicated medical evidence plans.
  • For this role, you will have obtained a Ph.D. or comparable in epidemiology or an associated health science field and extensive experience in the health care environment. Alternatively, an MSc or MPH with consolidated experience in the health care environment.
  • Able to deliver critical appraisal to study designs and published studies.
  • Continued efficiency in epidemiological research as evident by successful design, implementation, and publication of original epidemiological research relevant to drug discovery and development (e.g., drug safety) or commercialisation in peer-reviewed journal.
  • You will have sustained record of epidemiological efficiency at a tactical as well as an operational level.
  • Knowledge in operating secondary real-world data.
  • Evolving recognition by the external scientific communities as a specialist in the application of epidemiology to areas pertinent to drug development and commercialisation.
  • Able to effectually engross and refer with recognised key external scientific experts.
  • Exceptional knowledge in epidemiological methodology and aptitude to utilise it within the pharmaceutical industry at a world-wide level.
  • Knowledge conducting primary data collection studies.
  • Capable of executing advanced epidemiological theory and techniques throughout the product life cycle.
  • Solid respiratory therapeutic and disease area knowledge and familiarity with drug development and life cycle management.
  • Prior experience handling complex medical evidence programmes, comprising of interventional studies such as pragmatic trials or/and PASS.
