Hobson Prior is actively seeking a Control Systems Engineer for a 12-month contract to collaborate with a reputable biopharmaceutical client. The position is located in Cork, and offers a unique chance to engage with vital projects within the biopharma sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimise control system configurations, both hardware and software, to ensure system integrity and performance.
  • Develop and implement validation protocols for control systems in line with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee system performance, conduct troubleshooting, and provide ongoing technical support for DCS platforms such as Infi90 and System 800xA (S+).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive process enhancements and ensure continual system improvements.
  • Direct initiatives regarding control system enhancements, expansions, and new system implementations, ensuring project objectives are met efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of system modifications and processes in accordance with GMP guidelines and established SOPs.
  • Facilitate training sessions and offer support to system users, promoting effective use of control technology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with an emphasis on both hardware and software components.
  • Experience with Infi90 and/or System 800xA (S+) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry practices and GMP standards.
  • Strong capability in diagnosing complex system issues and formulating effective resolutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
  • Language proficiency: Fluency in English is necessary; additional language abilities are welcome.
