Hobson Prior are looking for a Cell Biologist Senior Scientist to join an emerging drug discovery and development company located in Cambridge. You will be involved in the dynamic early stages of a company focusing on age-related disorders.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, miniaturise and optimise cellular holophosphatase assays.
• Develop and optimise biomarker assays.
• Design, implement and analyse experiments to characterise the mode of action our compounds.
• Screen small targeted libraries of small molecule compounds in cell assays.
• Implement and optimise data management.
• Transfer technologies from academic or industrial collaborators.
• Analyse and compile data, generate scientific rep.

Key Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to details and excellent organisational skills.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. or equivalent in cell biology, pharmacology or cell/molecular biology.
• Experience with lentiviral transduction & cell reprogramming.
• Experience in cellular screening technologies: HTRF, IncuCyte, ELISA, Luminex, flow cytometry, luminescence.
• Expertise in compound management systems.
• Expertise in neurodegenerative disease drug discovery.
• Publication and presentation track record.
• Willing to travel occasionally.
• Proven track record in cellular assay development: implementation, optimisation and miniaturisation (384 well format).
• Industrial or academic expertise in assay development and screening of small molecules.
