Bioprocessing Scientist

Hobson Prior are looking for a Bioprocessing Scientist to join a manufacturing organisation who focus delivering pioneering vaccines for animal health. This role will assist in fermentation and antigen production process development for both in-house and third-party vaccine projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and test new fermentation processes to attain detailed project objectives.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of process development protocols in coordination with a wider team.
• Assist in the everyday organisation of own work for process development and validation protocols for GMP veterinary vaccines.
• Supporting in the development and validation of fermentation methods for GMP veterinary vaccines.
• Partaking in and support of other development activities as required.

• A 'can do' attitude with the ability to solve problems and make informed decisions.
• Proven ability to build relationships and work within a team.
• Computer literate.
• Being well organised, able to effectively prioritise workload and multi-task.
• Strong report writing skills, including SOPs for a GLP or GMP environment.

Requirements:

• Educated to degree level or above in a scientific discipline.
• Prior knowledge of fermentation processes and process development.
• Experience in following production and process development methods for biologicals, preferably in a GMP or GLP environment would be advantageous.
• Experience with E-coli, yeast and other expression systems.
• Further experience in production and process development would be beneficial.
