Hobson Prior are currently recruiting for a Bioprocess Scientist to support the development of novel cell therapy medicinal products and associated technology at a leading pharmaceutical organisation who are committed to providing life-changing therapies that can be developed for use in health services throughout the world.

Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable to drive laboratory-based development activities across a range of projects.
- Responsible to collaborate with process and analytical development scientists within academic and industrial settings.
- Progression of research-based manufacturing processes to scalable clinical manufacturing protocols that become suitable for commercial use.

- High degree of accuracy and a meticulous eye to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Takes initiative when required but keeps others informed of decisions.
- Good IT proficiency.
- Excellent organisational skills.
Requirements:
- PhD in an area relevant to cell or gene therapies or MSc/BSc with 3+ years industrial experience within an appropriate Life Science environment (either with biologics or cell therapies).
- Excellent working knowledge either in biologics or cell biology is essential.
- Experienced in novel cell and gene therapy processing technologies, particularly within upstream cell bioprocessing is essential.
- Working knowledge of GMP is required.
- Cell culture experience with either Immune cells (Lymphocytes, PBMC, Dendritic cells) HSC CD34+ cells, hESC, hiPS, MSC, HEK293 or other clinically relevant cell types is essential.
- Demonstrable experience in relevant analytical techniques (Cell counts, Flow Cytometry, metabolite analysis, PCR) is required.
- Capable of designing experiments with appropriate controls.
- Keeps up to date with professional knowledge, expertise and best practice.
- Proven ability to engage constructively with colleagues at all levels across different departments to deliver objectives.
