Hobson Prior are currently seeking for a Biomarker Immunohistochemistry Scientist to join a fantastic pharmaceutical organisation on a contract basis located in Slough. Our client is focused on translating research and development into solutions for people suffering from various therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities:
- For this role, when suitable, you will characterise antibodies, perform reagent review and conduct qualification/tissue planning optimisation examinations.
- Uphold a consciousness of new/evolving practices and tools pertinent to the area.
- You will guarantee compliance with all health and safety guidelines.
- Evolve ICH/histology biomarker assays within the lab for tissue samples and warrant delivery of high-quality fit-for-purpose assays and robust data.
- Operate in the bioanalytical field to perform sample analysis, data comprehension and document production.

- Ability to change project and business priorities to be in line with divisional requirements.
- Able to be adaptable within an energetic lab setting to meet project deadlines all while under minimal supervision.
- Capable of working within a matrix team.
- An organised individual with a high attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Educated to a degree level in a biological field with a comprehension of the principles of immunohistochemistry and its implementation to biomarker analysis within clinical studies.
- Familiarity with overall histology strategies, immunohistochemistry and/or in situ hybridisation with chromogenic and/or fluorescence strategy.
- Acquaintance with autostainers would be beneficial to the role.
- Prior involvement in brightfield and fluorescent microscopy, and associated imaging techniques.
- Former involvement in whole-slide scanning, analysis and digital image analysis would be ideal.
- Acquaintance with finalised workflow for tissue sample planning from sample gathering to tissue processing through to slide cutting and staining.
- Keen on the development of clear workflows and traceable documenting.
- Understanding of context of use, such as linking biomarker assay needs to the usage of the data produced.
- Familiarity operating with human tissues under the directives of the human tissue act.
- Previous involvement in a pharmaceutical drug discovery and development work setting.
- Acquaintance collaborating with ICH CROs.
- Past involvement operating electronic lab notebooks.
- Know-how of spreadsheets and databases.
- Know-how of quantitative image analysis, as well as whole slide scanning.
- Familiarity with developing biomarker ligand binding assays/immunoassays from starting principles in the lab such as ELISA, MSD, ELLA, Gyros, Singulex, Simoa/Quanterix, etc., would be advantageous to the role.
