Hobson Prior are looking to recruit a highly motivated Associate Scientist Immunohistochemistry to join a biotech organisation whose vision is to efficiently enable scientific breakthroughs through life science.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Imaging and analysis of tissue sections using manual and automated microscopy in brightfield and fluorescence.
  • Validation, optimization and documentation of new assay protocols and their integration into standard work streams.
  • You will contribute to and support process improvements.
  • Accurately recording experimental details in Lab notebooks or the Batch Manufacturing Record system.
  • Experimental design and execution of IHC single and multiplex assays.
  • Actively seek to improve testing conditions for individual antibody products and product groups to best demonstrate their performance.
  • You will create and maintain high quality standards during experimental processes and record keeping.
  • Abide by Laboratory SOPs and work within H & S, Ethical and Quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Educated in a MSc in Biomedical/Biological Sciences or equivalent experience in industry setting.
  • Have previously had hands-on experience with automated IHC platforms, with experience in Leica BOND being an advantage. From this, experience with tissue microtomy is expected.
  • Previous experience in using automated whole slide scanning systems with image analysis software experience being an advantage.
  • Previous experience in immunocytochemistry and imaging using confocal microscopy or High-content Analysers.
  • Great understanding and knowledge of histology with identification of normal and pathological tissues and a strong background in immunohistochemistry techniques with experience in multiplexing.
