Hobson Prior is seeking an 800xA Engineer to work on automation projects of varying sizes. The role involves designing and implementing technical batch applications using the 800xA system. The successful candidate will provide both onsite and offsite support and may be required to travel.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain knowledge of the product database and various sourcing factories.
• Understand and maintain knowledge of overall automation systems strategy, current and emerging solution capabilities.
• Lead a team from the initial engineering phase, through the project development phase, to installation and commissioning.
• Participate in project technical design and clarification meetings.
• Work across different disciplines of Software, Hardware, Documentation and Validation.
• Prepare and understand FAT and SAT Test plans.
• Support the installation, startup and commissioning of automated control systems.
• Provide maintenance and service support both onsite and offsite.
• Support sales and proposals to account managers.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• A degree in Electrical/Software/Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in Automation.
• Knowledge of software validation and GAMP.
• Experience in Pharmaceutical Automation projects or similar.
• Experience working in a startup / commissioning phase.
• Experience with 800xA DCS is preferable but not essential.
• Experience with automation connectivity to MES Systems.
• Experience documenting work procedures in compliance with all ISO9001 and current GMP procedures and practices.
• Ability to work with remote teams in projects across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Action-oriented and analytical.
• Ability to work well within a team environment and on own initiative.
• Strong organisational skills and technical knowledge.
