Hobson Prior are currently recruiting for a Tech Transfer Specialist to lead the transfer of processes, projects and knowledge between the organisation and external facilities. Our client is a leading pharmaceutical organisation who are committed to providing life-changing therapies that can be developed for use in health services throughout the world.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to contribute to both internal and external Tech Transfer activities (outsourced manufacturing and or GMP process development).
  • Delivery of, on-time project goals and milestones from external CMOs through technical collaboration and direct input to the project activities.
  • Delivery of on-time, "technology transfer projects" through technical and operational input to the projects.
  • Tech transfer of processes both into and out of the Manufacturing Centre.
  • Delivering protocols, policies and service level plans in relation to cell therapy medicinal products whilst ensuring the delivery of programme objectives.
  • Solid interaction with the Process Development group and the Innovation Team to enable the transfer and scale-up of manufacturing processes.
  • Maintenance of the site wide QMS to enable the outsourced activities of projects to be included and overseen.
  • Interaction with industry and / or academic based groups to provide practical engineering /science-based solutions for tech transfer activities of cell therapy products.
  • Use of a sound, detailed, and in-depth knowledge of technical and technology transfer processes, both in and out, to enable the Braintree Centre to deliver robust and scale-able processes.
  • Input into the design and establishment of operating principles at the Braintree site.

Requirements:

  • BSc within Chemical / Biochemical Engineering or Life Sciences subject.
  • Industrial experience is essential.
  • Proven experience of working to GMP regulations to manufacture cell therapies or biologics.
  • Experienced in either drug substance or drug product operations.
  • Experience of cell culture of human and / or mammalian cell lines.
  • Expertise in upstream or downstream processing.
  • Experience in QMS.
  • Experience in writing and following GMP production protocols / batch records.
  • Validation, trouble shooting and development and scale-up within novel medicinal products environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in process development, scale-up and GMP Tech Transfer of manufacturing processes involving QC or assay development.
