Senior Medical Director

Hobson Prior are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Director to join a top biotechnology organisation on a permanent basis in the US. Our client concentrates on developing pioneering gene therapies to enable people living with chronic diseases live a better life. This position will be accountable for all aspects of medical activity relating to clinical development of the organisation's haemophilia assets.

Job Responsibilities:

• You will be the organisation's medical expert for the haemophilia therapeutic area (this could include developing expertise in new areas as the company develops).
• Training of staff in haemophilia therapeutic area as required.
• You will remain up to date with haemophilia therapeutic area and ensure this is appropriately communicated across the organisation.
• Offer medical support and direction to the project teams and other groups within company as required.
• Leading and managing KOL interactions.
• Ensuring medical content of documents is accurate and of high quality.
• Appropriately manage and engage any third-party providers, e.g. events organisers, to ensure business objectives are met.
• Accountable for medical monitoring.
• Working closely with clinical operations, drug safety, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs.
• Data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
• Contribute to authoring of annual reports and other regulatory updates.
• Presentations to advisory committees, investigators and scientific meetings.

Key Skills:

• A demonstrated ability to create and drive an effective medical strategy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Competent with computer software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Requirements:

• You will have a MD or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in clinical development (ideally from early development, through CTA/IND, to filing of MAA/BLA and post approval development).
• Previous experience of the development of gene therapy medicinal products or rare disease products.
• Substantial experience in designing and executing clinical studies.
