Hobson Prior are looking for a Senior Analytical Development Scientist to join a top healthcare organisation on a contract basis in Brussels. The primary purpose of this position is to develop new analytical methods during the development phase of new product development in Parenteral Nutrition.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accountable for development and evaluation of new analytical methods to analyze raw materials and/or finished products in the frame of R&D projects
• Responsible to screen and evaluate new analytical technologies and implement them into analytical plan
• Must be able to understand and interpret data from formulation design and quickly propose suitable analytical technics and design experiments (DoE) to support fast formulation prototyping
• Perform statistical analysis and present conclusions to supervisor, project leader and management
• Conduct troubleshooting for complex technical issues and make recommendations to resolve technical challenges.
• Recognise new partners to outsource some analytical development and coordinate the development activities
• Adhere to the quality system requirements, local procedures, ensure GMP/GDP standards; also, adhere to general and specific environmental, health and safety guidelines.
• Complete training and coaching of junior laboratory analysts in analytical development
• Understanding project timelines, strategy, deliverables and planning project work accordingly with departmental, functional and external stakeholders
• Develop appropriate documentation (i.e. laboratory notebooks, power point, protocol/report, …) to support new product development.

• Demonstrates flexibility and can shift gears comfortably.

Requirements:

• PhD in Organic Chemistry is a must.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in analytical method development.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Experience within an exploratory phase environment would be a plus.
• Strong knowledge in various analytical techniques (physicochemical testing and complex techniques such as MS / HPLC / UPLC / GC / …).
• Good experience with statistical analysis or computational software is an asset (R, Matlab, Minitab,).
