Hobson Prior are looking for a Quality Control Associate to join an innovative clinical-stage immunotherapy organisation on a permanent basis in Stevenage. You will join the Quality Control team to help build up their analytical testing capability as they prepare to support clinical trials for their lead pipeline products.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Job Responsibilities
:

  • To support the Quality Control (QC) team in the QC laboratory buildout and in qualification and maintenance of essential equipment and assays.
  • Understand, implement, and maintain GMP standards with respect to assays, laboratory records, procedures, and systems.
  • Design and implement assay qualification protocols for final product and in-process testing.
  • Execute GMP QC release assays for flow cytometry, qPCR, and sterility.
  • Prepare, review and revise SOPs and protocols.
  • Train other laboratory personnel on release assays.
  • Draft and lead on Out of Spec and Lab Investigations.
  • Troubleshooting technical and quality issues.

Key Skills:

  • Skill set - flow cytometry and qPCR
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and build collaboration amongst individuals.

Requirements:

  • Degree in biological sciences or related field, and minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a cell therapy or related field in quality control laboratory.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishment, qualification and validation of assays related to cell therapy product such as flow cytometry and qPCR.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and ability to apply GMPs in conformance with EU, FDA and/or ICH standards.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction.
