Hobson Prior are looking for Patient Access and Community Manager for an exciting opportunity to join a world-wide rare disease company where you will be focused upon establishing reimbursement for all assets within the Immunology business unit and provide support of key work programmes in the UK and RoI affiliate.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to initiate, develop and drive effective and timely strategies to obtain patient access and maximum reimbursement for the organisation's assets.
  • Establish, influence and maintain a network including health economists, commissioners, advisors, clinical opinions leaders, policy makers, MPs and patient advocacy groups.
  • Prepare submissions for the organisation's assets according to the requirements of NHS England, National Institute of Health and Care Excellence, Scottish Medicines Consortium, All Wales Medicines Strategy Group or the Health Service Executive in Ireland.
  • Co-operate with HQ, to identify appropriate pricing strategy, initiate all steps required to execute a pricing strategy and negotiate with relevant authorities as required.
  • Provide support to the marketing strategies of products, understanding the critical importance of both national and local patient access and community engagement for business success.
  • Establish a patient access and community engagement advisory network including industry groups, patient groups and clinical opinion leaders.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations in all program planning and execution.
  • Ensures key activities are implemented in a timely manner and that activities are prioritised in line with strategic focus of the organisation.

Key Skills:

  • Confident personal presence and experience managing and hosting live activities/programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability and skill to work effectively with executive management and other leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix environment with diverse groups/function, overseeing complex programs and teams.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to at least Degree level.
  • Post graduate qualification in health economics, health policy or relevant experience is desirable.
  • Experienced pharmaceutical professional (minimum 5 years) with an excellent understanding of NHS funding including tendering, HTA processes and patient access at a national (UK and RoI) and regional level.
  • Demonstrable success in a related role, having taken projects from concept through to delivery (including HTA appraisals).
  • Good understanding of Health Economics and the ability to assimilate and simplify data and concepts effectively.
  • Strong project management, communication and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively with reimbursement stakeholders and KOL's through matrix leadership and team work.
  • The ability to work under tight time constraints and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates procedural and technical expertise in the UK and RoI reimbursement process.
  • Knowledge of product launches, commercial support and product development.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken/written).
