Hobson Prior currently have an opportunity for an IT/ Network Engineer to join an innovative gene therapy organisation who are determined to develop possible curative treatments for patients who are living with serious illnesses.


Job Responsibilities:

Full technical support for all company equipment, including all on-site lab equipment, security systems, network switches, security appliances, access points.

Provide first, second, & top tier technical support to all company network users regarding IT issues that are encountered daily.

Keep an inventory of IT equipment ensuring the assets register is kept up-to-date.

Maintain records regarding software upgrades and newly installed computer equipment, ensuring licensing for all software purchased is recorded and upheld.

Maintenance and creation of network user profiles and configuration of privileges through Active Directory.

Provide IT training to all employees, including inductions for new starters.

Provide Tier 1 & 2 level support for VPN, LAN, and WAN connectivity; SAN and VMWare virtual infrastructure; DNS, DHCP, Active Directory.

Monitor and provide operating system support for Microsoft OS's, iOS devices.

Organise vendor technical support services for corporate applications and infrastructure.

Coordinate with Systems Administrators to perform software upgrades and installs as appropriate for the Ireland IT network.

Install and maintain Antivirus protection.

Liaise with the IT Manager & IT team on advising on software/hardware solutions and provides testing support for all software/hardware onsite at the Ireland site.

Assist in development of MDM plans.

Work alongside the IT Manager to document corporate and divisional IT policies and procedures.

Coordinate with IT Manager to maintain plans and procedures to control data security, including password maintenance and security policies.

Perform job functions as a local Network Administrator for the Ireland site.

Key Skills:

Excellent documentation skills.

Capability to direct implementation of backups and restore procedures & software.

Work in a methodical manner to problem solve.

Good interpersonal and excellent customer service skills.

Able to respond flexibly and adapt to the needs of the business, demonstrating good organisation and time management skills.

Demonstrates an understanding of team dynamics and can work both as part of a team and independently without direct supervision.

Experience with setting up SNMP, logging software.

Demonstrated experience with hybrid Azure/on-prem file server, AD configuration.

Organisational and project planning skills.

Excellent communication skills, the ability to converse confidently with people and an excellent ability to be able to translate 'tech speak' to end-users is absolutely essential for this role.

Requirements:

Strong Microsoft Systems background.

Strong Networking Systems Administration background (3-5+ years).

Experienced in working in an IT support role & interest in moving to management level.

Experienced in working with Validated Computerised Systems such as e-QMS is desirable.

Experience with network security (certifications preferred).

Cisco certifications preferred or equivalent.

Microsoft certifications preferred.
