Hobson Prior is seeking an External Ops. Manager, Distribution for a role within a multinational pharmaceutical company. The role involves managing finance activities, assessing distribution strategies, and optimizing supply chain planning. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing external vendor relationships and ensuring trade compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage finance activities including bidding, vendor selection, grants, and purchase orders.
  • Assess risks associated with distribution strategies and provide guidance for optimization.
  • Coordinate distribution order preparation and resolve related issues.
  • Act as the main point of contact for operational interactions with vendors.
  • Manage and develop the external distribution network.
  • Work with internal logistics team to ensure trade compliance.
  • Manage deviations at external vendors and escalate high-level issues.
  • Participate in external inspections and audits.
  • Monitor vendor performance and identify process optimizations.
  • Drive innovation in process simplification and cost reduction.
  • Contribute to productivity targets by improving processes.
  • Provide and analyze reports on distribution and finance-related topics.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Degree in science, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of the drug development process.
  • Basic project management, organization, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. GMP, HSE etc.)
  • Problem-solving and idea generation skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Fundamental leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
