Hobson Prior are looking for a to join a VP (Senior Director) of Biostatistics top biotechnology organisation on a permanent basis in the USA. Our client concentrates on developing pioneering gene therapies to enable people living with chronic diseases live a better life.

Job Responsibilities:

• Become the very first member of the Biometrics functions responsible for developing the infrastructure of the Biostatistics and Data Management groups - including the hiring of several Programmer, Biostatisticians and Data Managers over the next 24 months.
• Provide 'oversight' to CROs to ensure the proper and timely delivery of Statistical, Programming and Data Management outputs.
• Develop and implement Biometrics-wide SOPs including the development of study protocols, SAPs, clinical study reports, etc.
• Provide strategic input to Biometrics outsourcing strategy, submission plans for clinical studies and regulatory body consultancy.
• Provide leadership, guidance and line management to Statistics and Data Management professionals including allocating tasks, project staffing and resource planning.
• Act as a 'leader' when representing the Biometrics function to worldwide regulatory bodies including FDA, EMEA and others.

Requirements:

• PhD (pref) or MSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related subject.
• 10+ years of experience as a Statistician, preferably within the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industries.
• Experience in a 'line management' role, preferably managing/hiring small teams within a small/medium-sized company.
• Experience implementing SOPs/building a team and structure for the Biometrics function.
• Experience of CRO oversight/management.
